PUEBLO 鈥 Jennifer Sherman, a longtime employee of 杏吧性世界, has been named the school鈥檚 vice president of academic support. She will begin the role Dec. 1.
Sherman began her career with PCC in 1995 as a marketing specialist. From 2003-2012, she was a department chair and faculty member, teaching communication and business classes. She has been the dean of the business and advanced technology division since 2012.
鈥淲hat excites me about doing this work is the confidence I have in the PCC team,鈥 Sherman said. 鈥淪tudent success is woven into the fabric of the college, and we have extremely talented, hard-working faculty and staff. I look forward to teaming up within academics and across campus to innovate, respond to community needs, find solutions and pursue excellence, all while developing our team and creating a positive and culture.鈥
Sherman, a native of Colorado Springs, earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree in mass communications and master鈥檚 in business administration from the University of Southern Colorado/Colorado State University 杏吧性世界. She is a board member for the CSU 杏吧性世界 Hasan School of Business and served as an appointed board member of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment鈥檚 杏吧性世界 and Upper Arkansas workforce areas.
鈥淛enny is a proven leader with over 20 years of experience at PCC as faculty, a department chair and dean,鈥 said PCC President Patty Erjavec. 鈥淚n her new role, I am confident that she will bring collaboration and creative problem solving, will work to develop genuine and trusted relationships across the entire college, and will bring much-needed stability to our institution as the college prepares to welcome its next president.鈥
Sherman replaces Quincy Rose-Sewell, who left the college in September.
