PUEBLO 鈥 Parkview Health System will provide tuition reimbursement for graduates of the 杏吧性世界 pharmacy technician program who become Parkview employees.
鈥淧arkview recognizes the need for quality educated and trained pharmacy technicians at both our main campus and the new Parkview 杏吧性世界 West,鈥 said Carl Swithers, vice president of ancillary services for Parkview. 鈥淲e appreciate the ongoing collaboration with 杏吧性世界 to provide tuition reimbursement for this important program.鈥
Graduates of the program who accept a full-time pharmacy technician position with Parkview can give their student loan provider information to the hospital. Parkview then will pay off the balance in full over a three-year period for loans related specifically to the cost of the pharmacy tech program.
鈥淲e鈥檙e so grateful to Parkview for their continuing partnership and support in offering this valuable benefit to our students,鈥 said Andrew Miller, PCC鈥檚 dean of health professions and public safety. 鈥淣ot only will our graduates fulfill a vital role in the health care system, they will be able to start their careers with less worry about the financial burden.鈥
Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in fulfilling prescription orders. PCC鈥檚 two-semester program offers instruction in basic pharmacy theories; students attend lectures and labs and get hands-on experience at local retail and hospital pharmacies. Graduates are eligible to take the national certification exam.
