Tricia Vigil is the chair of PCC鈥檚 Occupational Therapy Assistant program and a member of the faculty. She has a bachelor鈥檚 degree in occupational therapy from Utica College of Syracuse and a Master of Business Administration degree from Colorado Technical University.
Vigil says PCC鈥檚 innovation provides students with the best opportunities to succeed in their chosen field.
鈥淎bout six years ago, a Human Anatomy Learning Center was constructed to help students with their practical learning,鈥 she said. 鈥淚t has turned into an amazing opportunity for Occupational Therapy Assistant students. They鈥檙e taught in a multitude of learning styles while learning how to apply it to their profession.鈥
The HALC features two cadavers, two electronic cadaver tables and the Anatomy in Clay learning system, all of which provide valuable learning opportunities for OTA students and those in PCC鈥檚 other allied health programs.
鈥淭his is why I enjoy teaching at PCC,鈥 said Vigil. 鈥淭hey care about the students and as an instructor, it feels like a family environment.鈥
